PROBLEM:
Vendor scattering parameter
and
noise data are typically w
i d e l y spaced, and, usually, or so it
seems, never specified at frequencies where you need it! The time
honored solution is linear interpolation, but, real
devices do not vary in linear
fashion. Using this type data tends to skew the
response and adds "cut & tweak" time. Isn't there a better
way? Yes, - read on!
SOLUTION:
Scan
the vendor data file, and then let SData+ fit
a 3rd degree natural spline function, (a mathematical french
curve), to the vendor data, and then generate new
data, at the in-between points. This data will be closer
to real world than any linearly interpolated data
can be. SData+ does this and a lot
more!
As an added benefit, for Users of our other
software products, SData+ will create .CKT files
for use by our Sceptre program, and .IMP files for
use with our SmithMatch program. This lets you scan
and enhance data, then quickly generate and design impedance matching
networks.
QUESTION:
Why
isn't our SData+ program in your
tool box? One use of it will recover the $29.50 purchase price within
minutes. All prices are in USD,
and for a
single-user license.

EXAMPLE:
A Data
File Summary
containing information about an NEC NE02135A device is shown below.
Along with it is vendor data spaced at 500 MHz intervals - wouldn't you
know it?
An engineer wants to build an amplifier operating in the 2.0-2.5 GHz
range. Using the vendor data, all he/she has are two
data points at the band edges! Lets do a spline fit
and generate six data points.
Here are two of the data files generated by SData+.
One is spline fit s-data, and the other is spline fit noise data.

Now that we have data across our operating band, thanks to SData+,
our design should come out closer on our first cut!
In reality though, as you know, your actual design file should
incorporate a few frequencies far removed on each side of the operating
band in order to check on stability.
O.K. so far? Shown below is additional data generated by SData+,
FIVE more tabulations of useful
data!

SData+ will let
you really document your designs and put on a very
impressive "dog & pony show" when you have to do a presentation
to visiting customers in-house!
EASE OF USE:
This
program is
menu driven and very simple to use. The User Manual is clearly written,
(you can READ IT on-line), and tutorial in nature. It shows the User
how to enhance vendor scattering parameter and
noise data, and how to generate many other useful
device parameters.
MATERIAL
INCLUDED:
The program, and its support files,
can be downloaded, by you, direct from our server. The User Manual for
SData+ is available on-line. You
can view it or print it out at
your leisure. By having an on-line manual, you're
assured that you will get any typo error
corrections or tips instantly! Your manual will never
be "out of date." You may view the User Manual for SData+
