Introduction
The Main Menu is your starting
point. You may choose from SmithMatch, or various
utilities.
By choosing "1" from the Main Menu,
you enter the SmithMatch Module.
From here you may analyze or synthesize lumped and/or distributed
element impedance match networks, using a detailed on-screen Smith
Chart.
The File Utility lets you create load impedance
files, (we call them .IMP files). You can also edit or deleate existing
files.
The SmithPlot Utility creates a detailed Smith
Chart on your graphics screen. A small range of adjustment is provided
to maximize circularity. In most cases, you'll find
that the default value of AR,
the screen aspect ratio, works
well.
The Screen Utility helps you determine how well
your monitor displays a true circle.
The Startup Utility allows Users to
select from a variety of graphics cards.
Windows Users should select the 'Windows' display mode (Option 6), for best
results.
800 X 600 to 1024 X 768 display settings will work best.
The System File keeps track of program usage, and sets a pointer
corresponding to whether or not there is a system clock.
You may exit the program by simply choosing "7" from
the Main Menu.
Note that all menu choices are made via "hot keys."
When you are at "Choose (1-7) ? _," and type a
number from 1 thru 7, you will immediately go
to the page selected; it is not
necessary to press <Enter>.
