ERROR FUNCTION
Introduction
The error function used by
OptiMatch is formed by
calculating the VSWR of a network at each frequency within the
optimization band. The
relative error
at each frequency is then, simply, VSWR-1, where VSWR is what you
have,
and "
1" is what you
want.
In truth, the error function is just a
bit more
complex, but not much.
Standard Error Function
In the
Auto mode, the primary
defaults are fixed, and set to
1, 1, 2, and with
averaging "
On." Using these
primary
defaults, the standard error function used by
OptiMatch
is:
You can create an error function to meet
your needs quite easily. Simply use Expert
mode to try something on a one-time
basis, or use the Default Utility to make the
changes "permanent," when you use Auto mode.
The choice is yours.
General Error Function
The general case error function used by
OptiMatch
is:
In the Expert
mode, you are free to
assign your own values to W, G, P, and decide whether or not to average
by the 1/N factor, on a "one time" basis.
