UNIT UTILITY
Introduction
The
Unit Utility allows you to change the
default units of frequency, inductance, and capacitance. Any changes
you make may be saved for re-use, and will be in place each time you
run
OptiMatch.
The
default unit set is:
Frequency
: 1E6
(MHz)
Inductance
:
1E-9 (nH)
Capacitance
:
1E-12 (pF)
This utility will let you change the
current
unit set, or
restore the
original default unit set shown above.
How to change the unit set
When you choose "
(3) Unit Utility" from the
Main
Menu, either by pressing "
3," or by using
the
"F3" function key, you'll enter the
Unit
Utility. After a brieft introductory message, the screen
display will look as follows:
Unit File
1.
Frequency [1.0E+06]
2. Inductance [1.0E-09]
3. Capacitance [1.0E-12]
Change (1-3, R[Reset],
[<Enter>=Quit] ? _ |
To make a change, type either "
1,2, or 3" and then
enter the new unit value. When you enter a value, you
must
use
scientific notation format.
We suggest you use
standard
units, like KHz (1E6), MHz (1E6), GHz (1E9), etc.
After you make changes, you'll be asked if you wish to save them. If
you
do save the changes, you'll see that the units
listing in the
System File will have changed from
Normal
to
Modified. You can access the
System
File by choosing "
5" from the
Main
Menu.
How to restore the default unit set
To
restore the
default
unit set of MHz, nH, and pF, enter the
Unit Utility,
type "
R" and then
save
the changes. Now, if you choose "
(5) System File"
from the
Main Menu, you'll see that the units
listing will be back to
Normal.
